Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Sanctum, Dec 15, 2003.

  1. Well I couldn't pass this one up - now can you guess what I'm GAS'ing for?

    Mesa 1516 / 400 Watts 4 Ohm, also bi-amp-able with two 8 Ohm inputs.

    Sounds awesome!

Oooh! [IMG] I don't suppose you'd want to trade that for a Powerhouse Jr would you? Hehe...thought not.
How are the lows on that? The Mesa 2x15 I played through was pretty bright for a 2x15, much more so than I was expecting, at least. The Powerhouse Jr.s could use some more lows, so with those 6s and the 10, I'd imagine that to be pretty bright, despite the 15.

saturday and it will be mine !!:D

Not yours but the same ;)

I think it will match perfectly with my m2000 head ;)

Could you pleae post a pic of the back of the cab ?

  8. I had the same thoughts before I bought this, having never played one. But I was blown away with how low it does go, while having sweet mids and highs. So, like, yea .... that's why I bought it :D I'm still trying to find out what the crossover is set at, hard to find specs on this cab ... guess I'll call Mesa.

When I tried it out at the guys house he had it hooked up to a Mesa M2000, and it sounded killer. I think you'll be very pleased.

    Here's the back:

mine is not like that ..
I has only one jack input, and a 3 way switch.

    What's its use ?
  14. The 3 way switch is for the tweeter. Mine's not a switch its a rotary knob.

    Hi Guys,

Just wanted to reopen this thread as I have just put down a deposit on the exact same cab. Mine is pretty old and battered looking but sounded sweet as a nut. From what I can see the only downside is thw weight of it!!

I guess this cab will be good for all gigs not requiring PA?

Anyone with this cab got any comments on it? Any Head recommendations would be good. I am looking at an EBS350 if my budget will stretch to it. Although I gotta pay for the cab first :D

Do you not like the way the WT800 sounds throught it?
  19. Was that to me?

    I sold my WT800 a while ago. Runnising a Sansamp/QSC rack now.

I'm not sure of the actual weight of the 1516 - lets just say its a two person cab :meh:

I was afraid of that. Im trying to get rid of my 'portly' 110 lb cab right now. Sounds great, too heavy for me.
