hi there, i'm wondering if anyone can give me some ideas of good bass players to listen and check out. i've been recently introduced to Jaco Pastorius, Bootsy Collins, Larry Graham, Victor Wooten. i'm loving this funky Phat bass thing. anything with a good good groove. if anyone has any suggestion of bass players that are somewhat in the same groovy vein as the people mentioned above, i would appreciate it greatly. we all share and we all will benefit. take care

Flea from the chille peppers if you havent tried some of his stuff you should! If you like to slap try learning "higher ground". also stevie ray vaughan has some cool blues bass lines which I really like. This may not be what your looking for but give it a shot :bassist:

Also, if you like the fat tone, check out Hub from the Roots, Ben Kenney (new Incubus), and the new Jill Scott CD--can't recall the player but it is darn fine. IMHO of course
  12. Muzz Skillings who played on the first couple of Living Colour albums.

John Entwistle, is as said, from The Who. He's known for Solid bass lines with great on-the-spot improv.
Steve Harris is from Iron Maiden and is known for mostly his triplets and pretty speedy too.
