Looking for a backup bass

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by supernaut, Jan 15, 2004.

  1. I am looking for a cheap bass to use has a backup and to drap around to some of the places that I don't want to bring my Peavey Cirrus too. I was looking at some SX basses and the SX-SJB-75 looked pretty cool

I know the SX P basses are pretty solid but how are the electronics and build quality on the Jazz basses. anyone have this one.

The only REAL negative thing ive heard about that bass is that it is really heavy. 12-13 pounds.
  3. that is pretty hefty. I just looked and the site says it weighs 12 pounds. Mabey I would be better off to go with the 57 P bass model.

I just got a Fernandes Retro P off ebay for $150. This one even had an EMG pickup that I couldn't see in the auction.

Add Fernandes to the list of nice, cheaper basses to hunt for.

The SX Jazz is average weight. The Brice Ash/Maple is the boat anchor.
