Thanks for the clarification. I might have to download the trial version sometime and see exactly what it offers just because.
Riffstation is a cheap and useful piece of software. Not so effective at bass frequencies, but good for things a bit higher. The clever phasing adjustments and nice tight eq are pretty handy - I'll probably even buy the full version.
For learning bass lines, it's often just easier, if you are having problems hearing the bass, to run the track at double speed in your DAW because the bass is then an octave higher and stands out a bit better. Even with all these tricks, it's still down to your ears!
