    Please make a suggestion.

I play rock, worship, funk, slap, and a bit of jazz and blues. 20 years old, been playing for around 7 years. Looking to spend around $500-$750 (maybe more, maybe less.)

This will be the first bass I'll actually own, the others I have played were owned by the school. It will probably be the only bass I own for a while. Do I want a fretless? Do I want a 5-string? (I played a fretless 5-string Dean for a year in high school and liked it.)

I'm concerned with versital sound and looks. What brand do I want?

Is an Ibanez SR900 or SR905 a good choice?

    Thanks!

I don't own one, but I've played that Ibanez on multiple occasions and I absolutely love it. Not only is it beautifully made and well constructed, but it sounds great.
