my current bass is very neck heavy and im looking to get a new one that is well balanced. i want a 4 string for around 500 and under, pickups and electronics dont matter cuz ill most likely replace them. so i was wondering if any one could suggest some basses or brands to look into
(i dislike ibanez and only like fenders with all maple necks and boards)

How much are steinbergers? I know you can get a steinberger copy for under $500, but i'm not sure about actuall steinbergers. They look like black bassball bats. there is also the ashbory bass. Those are about $300 new.
