My 14.4 volt craftsman's batteries are about shot. What are you using for assembly and disassembly of your instruments? Any suggestions?

Well. I use a Milwaukee 18v Lithium drill for work, and it's pretty amazing. I'm sure if you got into the lithium battery game with a decent brand (Milwaukee, DeWalt, or Porter Cable) I think you'll find good quality.

Plus, lithium batteries charge completely in a few minutes.

Ryobi 18v drills w/lithium batteries are great, also-
have yet to wear out a drill,
and the lithium batteries keep a better charge for lots longer than ni-metal hydride.

  5. I have used the Snap On driver for several years. Works great and also has a nice torque adjustment from the extremely small tuner screws to the large neck screws. They are pricey.

Fine Homebuilding, or Fine Woodworking magazines, (Taunton Press), often does tool reviews. Not sure if they have any reviews in the web, but many libraries subscribe.
