  1. I'm looking for a Jazz album with an awesome bassist for inspiration. The type of playing I'm looking to hear is Complex/Technical Jazz playing on bass. Thats my style at least. A good album with nice tension n' release -Meaning, some technical/complex parts, really off timming, then a nice easy groove to release into. anyone????

I've really been dying to hear this.

Are you looking for Electric or Accoustic? The few I'm going to reccomend are true Jazz, I would not define them as fusion.

Electric: The Hudson Project, Live: John Pattituci
    Bright Size Life: Jaco Pastorious

Accoustic : Sunday at the Village Vanguard: Bill Evans with Scott Lafaro
A Midsummer's Night in Munich: Oscar Peterson with Niles
    Heining Orlstead Pederson
  3. Looking for electric bass. A nice Modern growly tone would hit what I'm looking for on the head! But tone doesn't matter THAT much.
