Looking for Marty Privette

  1. He was a former bassist for Dickie Betts on at least one album. I was wondering if any of you that have kept up with the music scene through the 80's and early 90's have heard of him doing anything else. Perhaps you even know the cat. I would like to hear anything I can by him or about him.

I believe this guy to be someone I met in 1976 while he was playing in a cover band in the Pensacola FL area. He was working a fretless and put me onto fretless as well. He also introduced me to Jaco and from then on things have pretty much gone downhill :) He was (is) a pretty amazing player - small in stature (a Jazz looked like he was wearing an upright) but great chops and the rather unusual ability to play the trumpet while he played his bass lines!! We also have a connection involving a drunk girlfriend but I digress...
