As the title says I'm looking at a first amp Thinking like an orange 25 ATM I'm only goi to use it in my house and occasionally a garage jam with a dad band 90s grunge How big should I go for my first amp 25,50,75?
I would go for the 100. And, when you setup for your garage jam, get it up on a two or three foot stand. You'll be able to keep up with the drummer and not strain your amp's capabilities. Good luck!
You know @Stumbo you are always there for me lol Do you think 100 is a bit much for the house? That's where I'll be playing a majority of the time Btw were thinking of names ATM I'm suggesting rage against the honey do list Or THE WHO....touched the thermostat
The 100 is only 16" wide and weighs in at 22lbs. It'll be fine in the house. There's headphones out and a nice volume control. And, if you get a gig, add an HPF and you'll be good for smaller venues. For the band name, good luck with that! There are epic threads around here on the topic.
The Who? TOGB (The Original Garage Band) Lots of cool names here: Accidental Band Names- what did YOU hear today?
Should you be concerned about volume in the house, just remember you don’t HAVE to turn it all the way up! Raf
Get a rig that inspires you. Give us a budget and ZIP code, and we will find a rig that will change your life and sound killer at any volume!
I'm worried if I'm not up to full volume I won't cut through the house mix Darn vacuum player thinks she's a star
SWR 15 combo. SWR Workingman 15 Bass Combo Amplifier That’s the best deal on craigslist near you that I can find. It’s a wonderful amplifier and will sound great at any volume. It has a DI and could potentially support your hobby for as long as you need. It’s really a great find. You could buy it at 150 play it for a year and sell it for 200.
I have to wait a bit sadly but now I know the info I needed I came in thinking an orange 25 would be ok lol
That SWR amp will eat an orange crush 25 for breakfast in skim milk. I think it’s 150 W. All those little practice amps are toys compared to it.
You will likely want more than 25w for a dad band in the garage. I would probably aim at the 100w range.
