Looking for Pickguards

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by ultramangeos, Oct 11, 2001.

  1. I am trying to find a replacement for my boring white pickguard on my MIM Standard Jazz Bass. Anybody know of a good place to check out. I like the Tortoise shell but can't find it. Or maybe you know someone who does customs?

  2. I got a cool gold pickguard custom cut for my 88 Sting Ray (the weird kind with no thumbwheel truss rod adjuster at the end of the fretboard) from Jeannie Pickguards. Their website kind of...uhh...isn't the easiest to navigate, but if you call them up, they are very helpful. I got my new pickguard six days after calling them and arranging to send it to them for tracing. That's fast!

Here's a photo of the Sting Ray with the pickguard:

Hey, funky, very cool looking Stingray. As far as pickguards go, you can try www.chandler-usa.com or check with a local luthier.

  4. You can try

I just received my Lakland Skyline JO 5
red Tort pickguard from them. Very nice
    work.

I think Roger does the work there, but Jeannie takes the orders.

If they don't have a template of your guitar, than you can send them old one. If this is not the case just give them a call anyway.

If this sounds like a pitch..it is...cause my
pickguard is beautiful. It 'upped' the value on
    my axe.

How much did it cost? I'm looking at getting a blue pearl guard for when I get my Fender jazz, but I don't want to pay like 50 dollars plus shipping.

Yo Vern, your JO5 is gonna look very cool with the tort pickguard.

I'm trying to figure out what color pickguard to slap on my Lake Placid Blue JO5; it's time to chnge out that plain vintage mint green pickguard.

I got a blue pearloid from Warmoth for $27.99 (+ shipping).

Great quality, and I had it within 2 weeks. I'm in Toronto, they're in Seattle.
