I have once again gone back to REALLY liking the look of a solid ash body bass (no laminate tops). Especially when they are able to show nice figuring (clear gloss...)

I really started gassing for one after seeing the job that F Basses does on an ash body. Fantastic!
  2. Here is my ash P-bass in trans orange...looks better in person btw. :)

    we have a winner! Awesome!!!

how do they do that? Black dye, then sand the body down and put a clear gloss over it?

Someone said that was the method. Black dye stays only in the grain areas.

    That is just beautiful.

  19. I think the paint is freshly wipped off leaving an enhanced grain.

Now has a side Jack, 3 band EQ with B&T stacked and blend. Back to Duncan SJB1's rather than AJJ's
