    Hello Folks,

I am closing on finishing my Czech restoration. I'm lacking purfling like the attached picture; dark/light/dark pattern. All told I believe I am missing about 3 feet total.

Anyone have any they can spare?

    Thanks.

  2. Bill you are going to have to measure the thickness of the lines. Then you can order that type. International Violin has it in stock.

Commercial bass purfling is 2.2 mm. It is usually black fiber/maple or maple-like wood/black fiber.

If you want to really match the pre-existing purfling, you can purchase .5 or .7 black fiber in rolls from Howard Core Company. Rolls are 20' x 5". I use it to make my own thickness -3.2 mm- and use different "center" woods. Private message me if you want more info...
