I am currently looking for a used power amp and saw a QSC 1400 for 170.00. How old are these? Is that a fair price (if in good shape?) What questions should I ask concerning purchasing a used power amp? Thanks
  2. This amp got good reviews at harmony central. Price point is all over the place but I think it is a fair price only if it is in real good shape. These old amps are very durable and I wouldn't hesitate to pick up one that's beat up a little (like my USA900) for a little less money.

They seem to have been built in the mid to late eighties.

I am looking for an amp for my preamp/power rig build. Would something along this line be suitable? I had always thought of power amps as being colorless drones, but after researching here I have found various opinions on the subject. I am hijacking my own thread here, but anyone got a suggestion on a used power amp in the 200.00 range?
