I've been using ROTO BASS strings for 3 Years now on my fender Jazz Bass, I liked them because they had lots of Lows and strong mids.

the problem is that they have lots of tension, they feel too stiff and they are rough on my fingers.

so I was wondering what other brands do you recommend me to try instead ?

Ernie Ball Slinkys are good. One of the two that I rate good enough to be good alternate to rotosound which are my fave. The slinkys will emphasize crunch just a tad as main diff to rotos to me. GHS boomers as the other best to me alternate to rotosound. Main diff if the harmonic & ovetone, tone is just a tad diff. Maybe slightly smoother overtones and harmonics yet still with the type of crunch and grind rotos have for the fundamental tone etc.
