Hye guys Im looking to finally upgrade from my little yamaha rbx 170 to something a little nicer.

But of course i have some requirements.

Mainly Im looking for 4 string,
with either passive electronics or passive/active (i dont wanna have to have deal with batteries all the time)

    Id prefer humbuckers

    and maybe up to 500$

so far im looking at the peavey grind bass or the g & L tribute l2000

Im just seeing if theres anything else out there that you guys might reccomend.

Playability is a major factor as Im a pretty new bassist, but I would also consider a 5 string if theres something there.

    Thanx for any sugestions
    Todd

I guess the main issue , whay io need some input is that Im gonna have to order either way (rural alaska doesnt have much for music shops)

cort has one that meets my requirements , but i remember reading thaty it doesnt have a real passive/active setup.
