I've played double bass for years and am looking to start learning bass guitar, but I'm I not sure which ones are actually good? It doesn't have to be fancy or professional, just good enough for small gigs or playing at home. I'm not super familiar with bass guitar brands so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions (in a mild price range bc I'm still just a student haha).

Well, you'll definitely be hearing "You should try out as many basses as possible" and that is a good idea, but you might want to start with this one.
$399 new but used ones are readily available for less.

The Squier Classic Vibe and Vintage Modified lines are great basses for the money. A '80s-'90s USA Peavey Patriot, Fury, Foundation etc. are great basses and are real bargains , they can sometimes be acquired for as long as 100 bucks.

Any Fender bass of your choice would be a great starter.
