    Hello!

I am looking to see if anyone happens to have a Turner Pre-Amp that will work in a Turner Ren 5.

OR - maybe you know of a pre-amp that will work as a replacement

I really love the way the bass sounds and plays but the pre-amp appears to be no longer working. I have taken it to a master luthier and he cannot seem to figure out what is going on with it.

I have contacted Rick Tuner to ask about buying a pre-amp but he is not responding even after several phone calls and emails (from me and my luthier).

My luthier thought about replacing the pre-amp with something different but said nothing will work because of the impedance of the piezo pick up... he says it is very high and needs the custom pre-amp to make it sound good and work properly.

I am very disappointed that Rick Turner will not respond....I am not even asking him to fix it or replace the pre-amp for free...I am offering to buy one.

I would love to continue to play this fretless bass as it has more "mwah" than any other bass I have played or own.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

If you happen to have a spare pre-amp that will work or a another option...please PM me.

    Thanks much!

The shelter-in-place orders were taken pretty seriously here in Santa Cruz (until recently). Some people have reacted with extra caution. The fact that no-one is picking up the phone might indicate that they are still closed. I'd hold on a bit longer and get the real deal from Rick.

P.S. A Packers fan in Chi-town? Boy, you do live on the edge!

Thanks....Yes - I know about the precautions. He did respond to a few early emails asking for info etc. so I know he is checking those periodically.

I guess I will wait a bit more

PS - I am originally from Milwaukee....and have lived "dangerously" in both MN and Illinois. There are actually quite a few PACK fans south of the cheddar curtain!
