has a natural/stained wood body. My budget is $700 (a used bass for cheaper is definitely an option). I currently have a Schecter Stiletto Custom-4 and I really like the more natural-looking basses. I play funk rock RHCP and Maroon 5 type stuff and also play alot of prog rock (Rush, APC, Tool).

Any recommendations from you knowledgable bassists out there?

    Thanks!

Edit: Oh yeah, my first post. Hello TB forums.

For used you might want to check gbase.com and use your price range as a search criteria just to see what's out there in your range.

I was at the music store today, & played that new 70s Fender Jazz bass , & a Lakland Duck Dunn bass. I was really impressed with both basses. Probably the Fender is the best bang for the buck 699.00 , but that Lakland Duck Dunn bass was so sweet , but it cost 1057.00. I'm a Fender man , but after playing that Lakland, I'm convinced. Hey, anybody want to buy a nice Gretsch G6072 long scale Hollow-body with case. I'm in love with a red Duck Dunn Lakland.
