hey guys... em i'm looking to buy myself a nice christmas present this year so im looking to buy a new bass as it seems my band are getting quite serious
okay so im looking to spend £300-£400 but at a stretch can throw a extra £100 IF need be, i drop tune my bass to drop B (b,f#,b,e) so whether this means going 5 string to get a decent tone or not i do not know altho i would much prefer to stick with 4 strings for the time being.
I would like a bass with active pickups but doesnt really bother me.
I would also like the bass to be neck-thru.
my current bass is a 4 string vintage meale wraith with active pickups.
any help on this would be greatly apreciated
    thank you

p.s. www.myspace.com/xxmusic is the band i am in incase u are wondering what type of tone i'm after and a nice lil plug for the band also....

p.p.s was looking into a washburn T24 what u think?

  2. look into ibanez and ESP. maybe a peavey or yamaha. don't know about NT tho. my guess is that peavey would have neck thru and not the others.

I bought a Washburn T-24 and it's a fine bass. I don't play it much cause I have others, but it's built very well, sounds good and the price is very good. I got it new (never used) on eBay for about $300 (US).

A very competent bass for the money.

  4. Waaay the dundee bands, who be you on the UGS then?

Look into an Ibanez BTB or soundgear, the BTB would probably be better, however its not a neck through, but, its a 35" scale so lower tunings are a tad better

  5. And . . . i dont see how posting a link to your music helps what tone your looking for, surely you blatantly get that tone with the current bass you have :p
