    You don't need any pedals to write grooves.

    If you want to layer parts over each other to work out little mini songs, then yes, the Ditto is great for that. It is a very popular entry-level looper.

  3. Ditto Looper is one of the better reviewed ones. I have heard a lot of great things about them... enough so I went out and purchased the Ditto x2. It was a bit more but I enjoy the benefits of the added features.

  4. The ditto is cool for looping bass, if you want to do something like sample some drums to play along with the better option is probably a jamman xt
