So I just took my shiney new Ibanez SR700 out of it's case, and the first thing I discover is a loose input jack. I already feel silly asking, but these things have a recessed jack and a round nut. I'd hate to get in there with the wrong tool and uglify my pretty new bass. Anybody know the RIGHT tool for the job?
Yes, it's easy to tighten up. There is a regular hex nut inside the control cavity. Take the back cover off and use a wrench to tighten the nut. I can't remember the exact size but it should be about 9/16" or 1/2". Even pliers will work if you're careful. Jeff
An alternative to threadlocker is a bit of clear nail polish, just to keep it in place. That's what I did and it solved it for seven months or so before coming loose again!
LOL. I never even thought of this before, but thanks for making me aware of it. In two years I'm going to make a ranting post about how people can't get this right.
