A great friend and a very good guitar player who I was honored to play with on more than one occasion, and a 40 year veteran of the KC and northwest Missouri music scene passed away suddenly yesterday from a heart attack. RIP Greg Camp he was 59.

Thanks, I'll pass that along on the bands web site. I'm going to try and make it back for the memorial at the club, and the funeral. He was a very good friend. I just found an old cassette with him singing and blazing on Nadine. Made me smile, but he always did that.

  6. Very sorry to hear the sad news. My condolences to his friends and family.

  7. Sorry to hear that. It really doesn't matter if we knew him or not, that is a young age to go and losing a friend is never easy. Hope his family and friends are doing well and that he enjoyed the time he had as best he could.

  8. Wow, Greg was an up and coming guitar player when I was playing in the St. Joe area in the mid 60's. So sorry to hear of this. Such a shame.

I first met Greg in the mid 80's, Greg and my ex went to school together, and him and I hit it off. Many nights jamming at my house, BBQ's, holidays. I can still hear and see him "driving" Chuck Berrys "Nadine".

Anyway, I'm flying in for the Memorial at the Levee in KC Saturday and the funeral. It'll be nice to see friends and Gregs family, its been 10 years since I moved away from Jo Town, just sorry its under these circumstances.
