    Damn!
I was playing Sweet Jane not more than 10 minutes ago, set my bass down, came onto TB and read this.
    Weird!
    RIP Lou Reed!

What??? I had heard he was doing well after this transplant.

I'm seeing some noise on the Net that this may be a hoax. Will check later.

Really one of my all time favorites. Listen to the "Berlin," "Transformer," and "Rock and Roll Animal" albums as many times as possible.

He elevated rock and roll to an art form, and was the most honest artist I ever listened to.

    hollywood, baby......
someday I will find 4 or 5 other guys who want to play the blues the way it was played before it became all about guitar heroics
as my user name attests, Lou Reed has been one of the largest influences on my musical aspirations. He will be sorely missed.

Wow. Blue Mask is one of my all time favorite albums. This came totally unexpected...

    I'm sad.

The bar I manage will be playing lots of Lou, Nico and Velvet music tonight. A sad day for music.

  16. Hoaxes don't tend to gain such traction with the mainstream media, though I guess we'll see. Hopefully that's all it is.
