hi guys im new to this forum and wondered if anyone can help
ive just purchased a trace elliot 715 SMC combo which im quite happy with, the only thing is the fan is very loud and when im practising with it at home it drives me crazy, just wondered if i could disconnect it or would this harmful to the amp.many thanks.

  2. If you disconnect the fan of a fan cooled amplifier it will overheat and shut down, perhaps permanently. It's not a good idea. There is an option of changing the fan for a quieter version of the same voltage and CFM ratings. Personally I would get used to the noise.
