"Everybody" can handle a classic Fender (well...not me) but there are other special basses that while some players would die for it, the another half people just hate them...

Yeah Ken lawrence basses are unique and they sound really nice... I played a KL 6-string over the summer... It was nice but the string spacing was so narrow.... I could have bought it for $1700... but i went with my Elrick instead

Well, this is a bass designed by an artist who had a rickenbacker and obviously, he really liked the aesthetics :) I love RICs, but somehow, I think this one bass would fit me alot better, sound (love jazz PUPs) and functionality wise (vs the RICs PU cover, short scale RIC neck).

  9. perfect example!

I love these basses...but this one is even cooler!

  10. Rickenbackers, Gibsons of every variety (especially the Thunderbird), the Warwick Thumb, some of Alembic's more rococo designs...

Yes, like that one. I hate it :p

I have never seen a single cutaway bass that I have liked, except for the les paul. That is probably because the top cutaway doesn't go all the way to the 12th fret. I hate it when the top goes all the way to the 12th... It irks me for some reason. I don't even know why.

I have the same problem with headless basses. In my opinion, the arent ugly. They are OOGLIE.

If they'd make such a bass with 5strings,1+4(reversed headstock) it would be soooo mine ! That bass is really gnarly..

edit: I'm talking about the dolan, not the ugly pos above ;) ;)

  17. I'm not entirely sure that everyone likes the Gibson Rippers/Grabbers/G-3s. They DO look very... Special, and I used to think they were ugly. Now that I have played and seen all of them in real life, however, I have completely changed my mind. Think they look great! :)

  18. I really like that one except that it has 5 strings too much :p

PS: does this builder have a website?/where?
