    Not necessarily. I don't think of Abraham Laboriel as a StingRay guy. He did own a fretless Music Man Sabre at one point, however, I'm hearing frets in those slaps and glisses on "Rise." Whatever bass it was, this article states that it was recorded straight into the board.
