Yes...my ESP Vintage 4 is named: Brown Betty...she's sunburst!
My MIA jazz bass is "Jazzy"
My Epi thunderbird is "the Bird"
this is why im not having kids. they will be named
1 and 2
My bass is called madisson
Yes. "The Fender" and "The black one."
Ruby and Candy then my other two I never play have no names.
I very jokingly nicknamed my first 12string bass 'Excalibur'.... the name stuck,
but it really ISN'T serious, though.
My 2nd 12er has no name.
I bought a new Jazz bass on holiday with my wife's relatives in Boston USA
and my wife named the bass after her cousin's wife AJ.

My basses go by:
the jazz (Fender jazz)
the five (SX five string jazz).
My 2 basses that I designed are named after my god daughter and my wife's god daughter. The names are engraved on the neck plates.
My MIA P Bass is named Lulu (after my nutzo wife)
My MIJ Jaguar is Boner (I put skull markers on it)
and my MIM Mike Dirnt P Bass is named Dookie (fairly obvious)

LOL, that's the funniest thing I've read in a long time. Although, shouldn't Hotpants be between Charybdis and Scylla???
I call my Ibanez "the Ibanez" or "the 6-string" and I call my Rickenbacker "the Rickenbacker" and my fretless homebrewed job "the fretless".
*shrug*... I've never been one to name inanimate objects... hell I have enough trouble calling my cat by her actual name.
Naming an instrument is so lame. but to each his own.
My 2003 Lakland Skyline 55-01 is "Boomer".
I just sold an Ibanez bean-bass (small body). I called that one "Baby Boomer".
The rest of them are still waiting for me to be inspired.
