Discussion in 'Strings [BG]' started by gimmeagig, Mar 29, 2006.

  1. Hi,
I have only used 135s so far my low B string.I'm about to order new a few new sets. What are the advantages of using a lighter gauge B?

According to the dude who works at BassNW, a smaller gauge will give you more accurate intonation on a fretless.

Um... your string tension will be lower (good/bad your preference)

    Yes, B0
I've used a 120 in the 70's and even a 145 recently. What do you like, and what feels and sounds best?

  4. I would say depends a lot on your scale. I would think shorter scale biger string to keep the low B string tight. I use 128 on a 35 inch scale.
