Okay, this all pertains to go gear that hasn't arrived yet, so I might be jumping the gun, but here goes:
I've got a Mesa M-Pulse 600 and a Mesa Bottle Rocket on the way. I'm going to keep the M-Pulse 600 setup relatively clean, and use the Bottle Rocket as an overdrive channel to augment the clean signal coming from the M-Pulse 600.

My initial thought was to use some nice, clean sounding low-gain tubes for the M-Pulse 600, and some aggressive high-gain tubes for the bottle rocket. For my purposes, would this be an effective method? Forgive the ignorance, this is going to be my first experience with an amp/device that has tubes (aside from about a week with an SWR 750X that I ended up returning).

I'm not looking for tube recommendations, I'm just curious if this is the best method for my idea listed above. Thanks in advance!
