Low output . . .

Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by i_got_a_mohawk, Sep 7, 2005.

  1. The output on my BTB seems to be alot lower than it should be (I thought this was my SVT, but i changed to my EDA and about got thrown through the wall)

Is it possible to just have a lower output from batteries dying? the sound hasnt distorted or changed at all, other than being quieter :eyebrow:

change the battery, doublecheck the electronics(gain pot) and/or raise the pickup height.
  3. Ill get some more batteries later on, i did the patented taste test and they are pretty dead, never happened like that before

I've found the output on my BTB405 to be very low, even with fresh batteries. I just figured that was how the bass was meant to be. Even with the preamp cranked, my other basses (both active and passive) are much louder. It sounds good, though... just quiet. :eyebrow:

I couldn't find a gain pot last time I had the electronics cavity open, but maybe I should check again.
