You mean shortest? I've heard of 32" scale basses, think they were Alembics or something?

    yes shortest

i know hofners are small to

    any others?
  4. The shortest ? Probably the Ashbory, with an 18 inch scale.

As for the others, do a search, there are many threads about short scale basses.

I think that the shortest "normal" bass scale is 30" or so. Gibson EB's are commonly 30", although the "L" versions are 34. There aren't a whole lot of short-scale basses on the market right now, but the Epiphone EB-0, Allen Woody sig. and Elitist EB-3 come to mind. Also, Gibson recently introduced a short-scale bass similar to the old ones. As mentioned, the Hofners are also short-scale. Ibanez makes an inexpensive 32" bass, the GAXB. There are also some 32" MIJ Fenders out there.
