Low Tension Strings

Discussion in 'Strings [BG]' started by harley_ou812, Jun 14, 2005.

  1. I have a ric 4001 and want to get some low tension strings. I have been using DR highbeams and low riders and really like them on my other basses. I want to make sure to go with a low tension to keep pressure off the neck.

Thomstik Infeld (TI's) are a good low tension string.

    TI's are great for Ricks.

TI Jazz Flats have low tension. Don't know about others.

The web-site juststrings.com lists tension for many of the strings they sell (but not all).

I believe the TI jazz rounds have even less tension than the jazz flats.

    Lighter guage=lower tension.

    Question

super light gauge Elixir nanoweb roundwounds (.035 - .095)

    or medium gauge TI flats?
