Convert your 34" scale Standard 5 MIM Jazz body to 32” medium scale without modification.

    The concept is simple.

Our unique neck design moves the headstock and nut to the location of the first fret on a comparable 34” long scale neck.

We also added an overhang with an extra fret at the bridge end of the fretboard.

The result is a 32" medium scale, 20-fret neck that will convert a Standard 5 MIM Jazz body to medium scale without any additional modification.

Imagine de-tuning a bass one-half step and putting a capo on the first fret and you've got the idea.

This is a direct replacement for a Standard 5 MIM Jazz body neck, and is 100% reversible.

These necks will fit the Standard 5 MIM Jazz body from Warmoth and certain other builders.

    Features:

    • CNC milled and finished in the US
    • Roasted maple neck with maple or rosewood fretboard
    • Mother of pearl dots
    • Tinted satin urethane finish
    • Lowe Custom Guitars logo and serial number
    • Bullet headstock truss rod adjustment
    • Carbon fiber reinforcement rods
    • Installed nut and Hipshot 3 string retainer
    • Installed Hipshot Ultralite import machines

No update yet...I'm not really expecting to hear much before the new year.

I was honestly surprised to have this project make it into the programming queue.

Regardless, I think it will be very much worth the wait.

I think it's a great idea. I will keep watching this space. Another question...do your 4 string conversion necks come in lined fretless? Thanks.

Yes, lined fretless is a custom order option.

You should have plenty of time for that...there is no telling when the CNC operation will be back online.

Shouldn't these necks also work on Fender American standard bodies? I know I have swapped necks back and forth with the MIM's and USA's

That’s an excellent question, and the answer is...I’m not sure.

I know this will be compatible with certain legacy models and current Warmoth MIM 5 bodies.

The reason I had my own Dinky J-V body programmed is because I wasn’t certain what the availability of conversion candidates might be.

    I’m pretty excited, too...:D

So, it looks like I will offer three bodies to go with these necks.

The Jayluxe V (Dinky J), shown in post #1, the Chromasonic V shown below, and the Comboluxe V currently being worked up for CAD/CNC.

The Comboluxe IV prototype is looking good thanks to the CAD/CNC work of my buddy Dan, and I think a Comboluxe V-32 is a natural progression.

I've had an epiphany over the last couple of days.

These necks and bodies would be ideal for a 32" scale Bass VI model.

I'm looking into having custom saddles fabricated for my 5-string bridge plate for the 6-string option.

With spacing at 2 7/8", traditional barrel saddles would be about 0.57" wide and that's wide enough for them to be stable under bass strings.

On the five and six string versions of the neck, I'm tinkering with the 2+2 headstock shape in MS Paint to see what a 3+2 and 3+3 might look like.

    I like it!

I just received the CAD of the 3+2 headstock...I'm pretty psyched.

    Thanks!

The Comboluxe shape will be offered in 4 and 5-string versions in 32" scale. I think the new headstock shape ties it all together nicely. It works well on the Chromasonic, too.

I'm really diggin' the Chromasonic body shape. Seafoam green with matching headstock.

There’s an all-white Chromasonic V34 in the pipeline that will have the 3+2 headstock. It’s going to be pretty sweet.
