    The Llama LIVES!

These have been in development since last August.

As you all know, the 32" scale conversion necks have been very popular, and every time I had a finished neck on hand for my own use, it sold.

With that in mind, I decided to build a batch of ten and offer them "ready to install" with a nut and Hipshot licensed Ultralite machines.

These are maple with rosewood fretboard, MOP face dots, and are available in 1.5" and 1.625" nut width.

Going forward, all conversion necks will have a logo and serial number and I have suspended custom orders.

    Thanks!

What kind of finish is that? Also, I have one on your older 1.625 necks and would like to upgrade my current tuners. What size should I order?

It's hard to say for certain whether they are 3/8" or 1/2" without seeing or knowing who ordered the neck, but I use Hipshot HB6's in all of my builds.

These necks will have the import version, and my custom builds use USA:

    Bass Tuning Machines
Yes, sir that's all that will be offered from this point forward.

    Thanks!

It's probably time to start figuring out who's in and who's out on this round.

This batch of 32" scale conversion necks will be offered ready-to-install and will include a nut, string tree, Hipshot Ultralite Import Clover machines in shiny chrome, and threaded steel inserts with 8-32 stainless machine screws vs. wood screws to mount the neck.

These are maple with rosewood fretboard, MOP face dots, carbon fiber reinforcement rods, bullet truss rod adjustment, and are available in 1.5" and 1.625" nut width.

I have updated post #1 and street price on these finished necks will be $600 plus shipping.

Right on, I'm still in but I need to switch to a 1.625" nut width, hopefully that still works for you.

No problem...these came through paint quicker than expected, so I am now waiting on the Hipshot machines.

    Thanks for your patience!

It's been a long time coming, but branded, finished, and ready to install 32" scale conversion necks will be available by the end of this weekend.

I believe I messaged everybody who called "dibs", but I apologize if I missed someone.

Here's the first one getting finished up:

When this headstock existed only as a drawing, I was worried that the lower hump was a little exaggerated.

With the logo and string tree in place, I think it's perfect.

question for the users out there. is the neck standard fender depth or the newer type neck with thicker fretboards. If anyone has put a new warmoth neck on an old fender bass you will understand my ask. strings get raised close to a 1/4 inch from the body... bridge change etc...

I assume it is newer deeper pocket body...

Here is a picture of neck #049 mounted on a 2013 MIJ alder Jag body I finished up in August. It came with two jazz PU slots, so I had it modified for a PJ setup. I had bought a supposedly MIM Jag pickguard, control plate with pots and pickups for $50 on ebay, so I put those on for starters and it sounds pretty good. The pickups have a pretty good low mid growl to them, which complements the Geezers I have in my cowpoke pretty well. I really love neck, the 1.625 width in that size fits my hand just right. The bass in the back has neck #047 and should be done shortly, I will send picts.
