Played the 5 string version a few months ago - sounded like a really nice later 70-s Jazz, if 70s jazzes had been available in 5 strings back then Had that "active -like but still passive" quality a good late 70s J has to me. J
The bass is beautiful and sounded good in your hands. Was there an aspect of the bass that made you let it go?
Hey Doc.....a good question....I took it on a small handful of gigs and something was just missing for me.....I can't say exactly what though. I moved it pretty quickly to a good home and am now waiting for my Muckelroy Pro Player build to be completed. I have been on the 'cheap bass' bandwagon for several years now and I guess something has just flipped in me. I wouldn't call the Muckelroy terribly expensive though, all things considered. I guess I've always wanted to own a hand-built instrument that I had some say in the woods, electronics and hardware etc, and that's what I'm getting.
