Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by SnakeAnthony, Jan 7, 2006.

  1. Anyone know anything about Mørch Pickups? Anyone have a pair in their bass?

I have a David King E bass with Mørch Pickups.

I have also done lots of data collection on these (and other pickups). I have tested about 6 of his modern pickups.

The frequency response is flat to higher bandwidths than most types of pickups. The output is lower than "normal". The inductance of the coil is lower than "normal". The strength of this magnetics is about the same as a Fender P pickup. The noise cancelling on a 5 string is better than a single coil but not up to a standard humbucker because most of his 5 strings have 3 strings on 1 internal coil and 2 strings on a separate coil. The potting compound breaks up easily.

They play good but they feel a little different than most. More definition than is typical.
