  1. Anybody know where you can get black machines heads that look like, are, or fit rickenbacker 4003s? or anybody know a good way to paint them without making them look terrible and working terribly. and i know with some searching i can find them but since i made a thread, anyone got a link to wear i can order some black beauty strings, a bit on the thicker side. thanks guys.

btw i'm not trying to make an all black converation, i just think it may look nice.

Look for a bolt supply place - try the yellow pages.
If they don't have exactly what you need, some of these places can make it right there. If you're buying one, or just a few, rather than in quantities of thousands, they may charge you several bucks for a bolt that would otherwise cost a few cents. But if you gotta have it . . .

  3. I've always been happy ordering from Just Strings. They've got prompt service and good prices. Here's their DR sales page to find your Black Beauties.

    DO NOT PAINT THEM!!!

Please, check around and see if you can find someone who powder coats. It's much better than paint - and it wears like a tank. Especially since you're thinking about a high traffic part of your instrument.

Also check Hipshot. They do make a Ric replacement bridge, may be their tuners could fit as well. They are a top notch company.
I'll take hipshot over Schaller, ABM, Grover, Kahler, Gotoh, and MannMade any day. Oh and Leo Quan.
