Wowee. The world's fastest personal computer. 8 gigs of RAM! Yowza! 64 bits! Three times quieter than a G4! Man... only one thing comes close to making me drool like a Mesa/Boogie does (well, almost), and that's fast computers that I do not need nor can afford. Fun to dream though.

I'd love to sic one of those on my Protools setup.

  11. macs are good for ipods and video editing. did i miss anything else that is compatable?

  12. mac doesnt move along as nearly as quickly as the rest of the pc world does. intel will surpass the G5 in the next two months.

Once again, nobody can say anything is cool on TB without a bazillion people swooping in to say it's crap. PCs work well with some things, Macs work well for others. And yes, they do play well together provided you know what you are doing.

And the Mac vs. PC speed arguements are about as pointless as the solid state vs. tube watts arguement. It's all in how you measure it and under what conditions.

I like my Mac. I'm glad you like your PCs. See, isn't it great that we've all become better people? :D

FISH FACE!!!! Party on Garth. Rock on Wayne.

I hope you are kidding because that is one of the most ignorant things I have read on tb. With the exception of games, pretty much anything you can do on a pc you can do on a mac. And when it comes to pro audio, video, or publishing macs are where it's at.

  15. I'm gonna have to disagree with ya pal. Most programs are not intended for Mac use. I'll agree on the audio/video part, but with the right gear you can get the same results using a PC, and seeing as I play alot of games, for me PC is as good as it gets.

  16. Yeah, PC rules for gaming...but the simple mac is good for editing music and video and stuff...

What I was trying to say was that most PC programs have a mac equivalent, so the whole "Macs don't have any software" argument isn't as valid as lots of people try to make it. Of course in some areas macs are very lacking. i.e. games, engineering.

There are a lot of games available on the Mac platform.

    You can run office suite
    You can surf
    You can run linux
    You can do dtp
    ...

The incompatability argument reflects ignorance. You cannot run XP. But you can run everything else. And the interface, system design, etc., is sooo much better.

How do you get the printer to work on the Mac? You just plug it in.

How do you get your digital camera to work on a Mac?
    Plug it in.

And now Dell is in the education market!

School kids should know unicorns and hello kitty and translucent blue computers.

Instead, there are 6 year olds across the country, scratching their heads, "c backslash, c backslash colon what?!"

    A little tale:
A while ago, I used to work for a big book printer. We used to print Windows support texts. Ironically, guess what system was used to generate the documents?

  19. Know what else is ironic?? The fact that they use pop-ups to block pop-up ads...
