Proud of my son! I like the idea of covering Eddie Hazel with a bass! Pretty cool use of a Whammy pedal. Let me know what you think!!

Yeah, he probably should have been born 50 years ago! When my wife was 8 months pregnant with him, we went to a Tower of Power show, and I swear he kicked and moved for 2 hours straight while the music was playing! Had a feeling then that he was gonna gravitate to some pretty cool music!!

He is using a Whammy pedal. It's a pretty cool pedal, confusing for me, but pretty cool! Oh yeah, he is also using a delay and fuzz face that is part of the garage band software.

Hope he sticks with it, he's talented. You must be very proud (I would be).

P.S. When I saw the thread title I thought it was about the album cover. :rollno: Me lose brain in the 70's.

The Whammy pedal is an octave up and wah?

Damn cool. I always loved the phrasing and melody in that solo. So much emotion. Never thought of trying it on bass. Sounds damn good!

    EDIT: Just looked it up.

Awesome aging in the videos for sure!!! How old is your son?? My daughter is 22 and she has been playing in our church praise band since August of last year. This year she has gotten a lot better. I am going to let her check these videos out and encourage her to do more of this kind of stuff. She actually did already. She has been doing the parts of other instruments on bass just for fun after learning the bass part.
Great playing by your son; you should be super proud!!!

Wow , Maggot Brain , I haven't listened to that in about a hundred years. I have that album, still sounds great after all this time! So does your son!

My wife still wants me to take her to a Celine Dion concert ..... I fear for my child!!!

But there's hope.. My nephew in Israel , who is 10, who has both parents with bad musical influence (well bad in my standards ;) ) .... Is now telling me he's a queen fan ... ;)

I know very little about the Whammy pedal other than it can do the octave up or down. It sounds pretty annoying when I use it. Go figure...

Thanks guys! Cool to read your responses. Dad is just a bystander though, and has been left in the dust long ago!
