OK, So I'm thinking about having a bass built for me. I'm planning on having standard jazz pickup config, but with a passive/active option, an 18V preamp and a piezo in the bridge, with 2 band EQ.

I'm thinking of the following control set-up...

    *volume pot
    *active/passive switch
*blend pot (between neck & bridge magnetic p/ups)
*3-way p/up selector switch (magnetics only - all - piezo only)
*bass/treble (works on: active EQ, passive cut, piezo)
*mid range pot (works on active EQ only)

This set-up should allow me to have

    - classic passive option (neck & bridge p/up blend, bass & treble cut)
    - standard active option (neck & bridge p/up blend, bass, treble, mid boost & cut)
    - piezo only option (bass & treble boost & cut)
    - combination of magnetic & piezo p/ups with active EQ. blend netween two magnetics and the piezo, so I could have neck magnetic and piezo running at once, for example.

Does this sound too complex do you think?
I figured it would be a waste to have a piezo without the option of blending piezo and magnetic p/ups. I also really want to active/passive option, so this seemed the only vaguely feasible way of doing it.
    Any comments, foreseeable problems?!
