I got uncontrollable major GAS for an old SVT.
    I don't really need it; I have a 3 Pro that’s plenty loud.
I'm playing little bars in a blues-rock band so it's not that
I need that much power. I've been all over e-bay and the classifieds looking.
My bass playing buddies in other bands all have Eden’s or GK's.
So it's not keeping up with the Jones kind of thing.
I've had SVT’s in the past and I have to have another.
They weigh too much and there's much more modern tech out now.
Nobody uses a old SVT cabinet anymore either.
I need to have a fridge again.
My wife is the sound of reason. "How you gonna move it". "It will never fit in the car".
“It weighs a ton” ”Your not playing concerts anymore”

    Don't care, still want it.

An old SVT is very sexy.
That blank industrial look of pure power. It's a monolith.
    Like in that movie “2001”
It would almost be like an alter to pay homage to the bass gods.
    This all makes no sense.
I'm not looking for an answer for my GAS .
I just wanted to rant to folks who might understand.
I’ll tell you though, maybe not right now, very soon then.
    I'm gonna get the pig.

    Is it that obvious?

  6. "Is it that obvious?"

    Hahahahaahah - YES

Besides the fact that us not so young gals can usually smell this a mile away, when someone named sedan_dad says My wife is the sound of reason....

    Need I say more?

    Peace,
    S

Me too, man. Perhaps try and find an old SVT head and pair it with a more portable cabinet. That ought to get your wife to shut her yap. ;)

Buying just the head is more than likely the smart way to go.
I just hate to sell anything I have to finance this.
I did that too many times in the past and I still have sellers remorse.

    I'm going to do it.
I have a 68' GTO out in the garage that I don't play with anymore. I listed it and gonna spend a little and get me my boat anchor.
I really am amaized that in the 35 years that the SVT been out,it's still the benchmark.

  10. If only a GTO will do then of course only an SVT will do.

It's just the way it is.
