    Hello, Talkbass.

Ok, I know - no pics in the initial post is a major violation. Please bear with me, if the topic interests you.

We are well along on this project, but a long ways to go ~ this is a collaboration between myself and an experienced woodworker and artist, and it will be a few months more before its completed, as we only work on the bass when I'm visiting a few hours away.

Balboa Natural, mahogany cigar box body

Neck and headstock are made ~ cherry/maple/walnut/maple/cherry

    Fingerboard is Ziricote, very pretty.

I went with the D'Addario bass uke strings, and have a 3-piezo element pickup which should cover a wide area.

Scale length - trying for 23", looks like that'll work out well. I really don't like the 20" scale length and 23" seems about the most we can get out the strings, which are 31-32" total length.
