Yes! Sounds awesome, and possibly different enough from the Bugcrusher to justify keeping both around even though they do the same thing.

I can't wait to pick mine up.

    MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTZ!

lemme when you get yours. i got an email back from Josh at Malekko, and it sounds like i have a buggy unit (ew), but mine has a bit of a volume and low end drop when clicked on. love to hear if yours does/doesn't do that. also, i get some hiss when i plug in the power supply. Josh said that was NOT normal, so i think i'll be swapping mine out with Prymaxe.

oh yeah, Prymaxe? AWESOME place to buy from. they ROKK.

Sounds good, but the Frantabit does the exact same tones and more.

to me they're a bit different. hah. see what i did there? BIT???!? take THAT bishes.

........ sorry. just woke up. 'm PUNCHY.

the Bit gets to the same places that the Franta does, but with a bit of a different character. and i dig that Malekko put the parts of a bit crusher that i like in a small, super easy to dial in box.

for sure, the Franta just does EVERthing. thing KILLS. and that's what Taylor excels at..... making boxes that give you ever single option and SO much range in each given effect type. so GOOD.

i can see having them both, Bit as a simpler, easy settings wacked out take on a broken ring mod, the Franta as your This Will Work With ANYthing mad range box.

    i'm digging it.

Yeah, they are pretty awesome - I've had a few things from them. Mine was actually delivered Tuesday I think to my US address, so it's just a matter of when I can get there to pick it up.

I will definitely let you know if mine has the same issues.

    Nice pedal. Aesthetically pleasing too.

Sounds similar to some of the settings on my Behringer BSY600, but less harsh. The BSY600 was less than $50 though, so you get what you pay for.

I got the Bit a few days ago. It does sound great, but it's probably going back. I get a pretty noticeably volume drop as well. I messed around with the trimpot on the back, and there is absolutely nothing in between a hair too quiet and rip your head off loud.

If the frantabit can do this sound, then I'll be getting it. I love IE, but my board space is pretty limited and really wish the Bit worked out..

i still think the tones between the Franta and Bit are different. i'll try to get a Vs. demo up later today. but yeah, can't go wrong with the Franta.

Dalo - where is the trimpot? i looked inside and don't see one on the board. there's a circular thing, but with light pressure it didna move.

if i can figure out the hiss or if mine's buggy, then not having a volume drop would make this a DEFINITE keeper. again, the Franta does more, but this does exactly what i like. and simole controls are a bonus sometimes. because i'm a goof with my board on occasion.

  12. Agreed. Another good one man. :hyper:

The tiny circular thing actually is a trimpot. I didn't think so either, but I contacted Malekko and they confirmed it. If I set it any higher than stock, the thing was ridiculously loud and distorted, even with the mix all the way dry.

Again, I really dig the sound otherwise, but now I have a Frantabit coming my way :)

AWESOME. thanks so much meng! i'll give that a fiddles when i get home.

    thanks!

Got mine and played with it a bit. No volume/fidelity issues but the tiny pots and wobbly knobs make me a bit uneasy. I guess just don't step on them and they'll be fine.

It's just so....crammed in there. It's really impressive. Definitely being careful when stomping because those knobs ARE wobbly. My favorite thing to do is adjust the rate with my foot on the BugCrusher but these are IMPOSSIBLE to do that with. Even a KickDisk would scare me. Maybe I'll have to try one out (we'n though it looks like a plastic pancake on your board......)

I don't know if you took the knobs off, but underneath is a micro pot that's not bolted down to anything. It's not fixed to the enclosure in anyway, just to the PCB.

Initially I didn't hear it, but now that I've tried it at a proper volume, there is definitely some drop in the level when turning it on. No hiss when plugged in so you may still have a bum unit.

Also, mine doesn't seem to have the trimpot in the location shown in that photo.
