    Hi There,

I am relatively new to using pedals with my bass. Recently started using a Boss chorus pedal and a Darkglass B7K overdrive pedal. Just wondering about the best way to manage volume when switching between pedals. For example, if I switch between my clean channel and my overdrive pedal, the volume often goes up by a large amount if the overdrive is turned up for example. I want the overdrive turned up to achieve a certain tone, but I want the volume the same as the clean channel. Is the best way to manage this just by adjusting the volume knob on your guitar on the go?

    Thanks in advance!

Most pedals should allow you to set them to roughly "unity gain", which is a fancy word for saying that with these settings the volume with the pedal engaged or disengaged is roughly the same.

E.g. with the Darkglass, this will normally be attained by lowering the "level" knob to compensate for the volume added by the "drive" knob (most overdrive / distortion effects work this way).
