Hey everybody-Heres my question. I think this will work but i thought i'd double check with you guys I'm plugging into a Carvin PB200 then running a line out to a Yorkville MP8 PA head into a Peavey PA cab. This will work with running a line out from the carvin right? Makes sense to me but am not entirely sure. thats all
From what you're describing, that should work fine. I'd plug it in to the Power-Amp In jack (if it has one) or the effects receive/return jack. Alternatively, if the Carvin has a tuner out jack, your might try running a line from that to the input of your other amp - just a suggestion though. But yeah, you shouldn't have any problems.
Sweet, thanks for the assurance Whiteknight. I would plug it into a poweramp in but it doesn't have one-surprisingly enough one of the first things i looked for. thanx for the reply
Yeah Cam that will work. The reason I think WhiteKnight said to run it into the Power Amp in is because that won't color the sound coming from the Carvin. However, after some research I see that the MP8 is a mixer. Theoretically, if you set all the effects off and the EQ flat, the sound should be pretty much the same from both the Carvin and the mixer. Or you could just run your bass straight into the mixer and not even go through the Carvin, if thats at all possible. BTW, what do you play in Marching Band?
it sounds like it'll work, you'll just have to try it out. I have a hard enough time w/ a Crate 100w!
It worked. I like being able to alter both signals. I play bass guitar in marching band-i'm in the pit. We're the Lafayette Jeff Marching Bronchos. thats all
In the pit, eh? So do ya dig a big hole on the sidelines before they march on? FWIW, I play tuba and we got a Superior at regionals for the first time in 7 years
if I was a bass player in a marching band, Id buy my own wireless system so I could march around with all those horn players... a wolf among sheep. the only marching band with a bass player that I ever saw was in a parade going down the main street in Ambler, PA. they had their bassist sitting in the back of a pickup with some little amp. I felt sorry for him.
Lo-end you think i'm that coordinated? Actually i'm glad i don't have to march since my bass would ram into people. The wireless thing-if i had money i'd get a bigger amp first-need to replace my BXR 15 w/something with more balls. thats all
