that's pretty cool
That's cool. Double finger plucking, probably cause to get any good tone, an electric player's gotta do it!
Edit: Never mind. Only in the beginning he does that.
pretty cool...Marcus does appear to have some ability on DB, i really like his groove on Boomerang from M2
Wow...I didn't know James Taylor played with Marcus, let alone got involved with stuff like that. Excellent video
Marcus Miller is like Samuel L. Jackson in movies... I think he pretty much played with everyone.
Very cool, I was wondering how he does with double bass as I heard he played it but never seen it myself. Thanks.
that looked like it was from david sanborns "night music" show from the late '80's,they really need to get that whole series on dvd.
He once told me about 4 years ago, that he didn't do DB's becuase they "f*** up my chops." His words, not mine. I guess he had a change of heart.
Keep in mind the video is probably at least 10 years old.
Actually it's closer to 20 years old... It's interesting to see MM play DB. Thanks for sharing it with us, I'm a big Milton Nasciomento fan, never mind big brazilian music fan in general!
oh man i'm a big marcus miller fan, but i found an old vinyl record of his at the store a few days ago, think it's called "suddenly" i mean this is crap michael jackson probably would be ashamed to sing. cheesiest sappiest crap, and he doesn't have his signature bass tone on this yet either
according to the description, marcus miller now plays the "base"
the amazing Nana Vasconzuelos on percussion and the GREAT late Don Grolnic on keys. That video moved me. And yes, that show should be released on dvd , the whole series, it was TV at its very best.
thanks for sharing that, it brought back memories.
That was a killer show.
Night Music was an amazing show! I can't view the video due to work computer restrictions. What tune is it? I remember seeing him play DB on Take the A Train on the show.
