We're performers, we know this isn't her fault. No sound check, no monitors...equals disaster.

I'm glad I read up a little on it. I saw it live, like many did, but couldn't hear anything she was saying. I thought she was going to way of Scott Weiland, and I'm really glad there was technical stuff going on. That had to be a nightmare for her - can't even begin to imagine what that felt like,

Anyhow - Happy New Year everyone.

    I feel sorry for her.
A woman with such a fantastic voice - I really hope this isn't what she is remembered for (I know she's not gone, of course, and I admit I did have a chuckle at the comment on Youtube that the last celebrity casualty of 2016 was her career.)
I hope some poor sound guy isn't starting his new year looking for a new job - doubtless some damn accountant know-it-all decided to cheap out on the night's set-up.

I felt so bad for her...and she kept going with grace....
But does frustrate me with the whole lip synch thing

I am sure somebody got fired last night.
Her career is fine, it was not her fault

Was she planning on lip syncing those super high notes at 0:31?

TV New Year's party shows were depressing in ever aspect. On ABC network showing newer acts I never heard of half of them. And then one of the veteran's gets caught using Memorex. On FOX, older music was 1990 hip hop and plugging their new music industry drama series.

Off the radar. I've been watching a Three Stooges marathon for the past 2 days. Now, that's entertainment! You want music? Here ya go!

Maybe if they spent more time working on music and less time running around the stage like chickens pecking in the barnyard ... I'm not saying anything, I'm just saying.

Yes she was. I believe the reason for her comments to be timed specifically sporadic throughout the number was to take the attention away from those vocalisms and keep us from noticing they were even there.

NYE! A legitimate event, once a year with a lot of people. I'd rather be known for doing my best in adverse circumstances than doing nothing at all.

Consider her reaction subpar in light of her fame, talent and amount of years in the business. If Mariah can't do it then who can? I thought it was in her wheelhouse, clearly no longer!

Next line said spit out in the voice of the soup nazi.......

NO diva card for you! Turn it in.

Of course you feel bad BUT I appreciate the exposure of the syncing...

Folks you will be supposed, there are rock bands that do it as well...

I think its kind of messed up that lip syncing is becoming commonplace for these types of events. Music fans used to really care about seeing an actual vocal performance, and if you got caught syncing, it was the end of your career. Look at the Milli Vanilli thing. That guy got so depressed over the backlash that he took his own life.

Yes she's still very pretty, but if she doesn't have the vocal chops left to put on a decent, REAL performance, then IMO she should stop getting on stage and maybe do modeling or something.

well, she was paid more for that performance than everyone on this threads salary combined. Sounds like an awesome gig to me.
