Mark King on a 5 string?

    :hyper: I know the vid is from way back in the day, but anyone know what bass he's playing?

    Looks sorta like a Status, but i cant realy tell :(

    I think it's a Status S2 headed 5 string.

    Status Bass. Can't remember the model, but still sold on the Status site, I believe, along with Mark King "artist" models.

    The song is "Overtime" off the album, Guaranteed.

    Nice basses!

    It's a Status Matrix. Mark used the 5 string for a couple of songs on the Guaranteed tour, but other than that, you'll be hard pressed to find any evidence of him ever having used a 5 string live. He apparently prefers the easy playability of 4 strings.

    It was a Status Matrix Empathy 5

    He used a MM S'Ray 5 in the studio for a lot of stuff that would go below low D (which he tuned his E string to).

    He's quoted someplace that he thought MM basses were some of the best recorded.

    And i thought Alembics were his sound :p

    He obviously sounds very similar with all those basses.
