Mark King showing his incredible technique. The rest of the band are killin' it, too:

And since it's that time of year, here's a clip of him shredding an awesome version of Jingle Bells:

    That's what happens when his tech accidentally installs .045 - .105s instead of his usual .030 - .090s. :D

What's funny about this clip to me is the fact that although the bass lines are not like "Wow" or "Awesome", I still couldn't play bass like that on a good day.

  7. Hi,

They've got the crowd clapping on one and three. :D

I think this is the actual performance. ;)

    Reminiscent of RTF.

    Thank you for your indulgence,

Jazz Ad Mi la ré sol

What he plays isn't very complex but he's jawdroppingly fast, clean and accurate.
He even manages to sing at the same time.
His style went out of fashion but it still is a sight to behold.

Indeed. The pyrotechnics are impressive, but what I love about King is that his pocket is so deep. Something like "Love Games" is just a great groove.

And, yeah, putting the singing on top of that... Dude is ridiculously talented.

I don't know if you can even get this album any longer, but on one of the first Level 42 albums had a tune called 'shapeshifter' on it. This may have been the song that got me into playing bass.
It was before he started playing at the ins
ane speeds that got them (even more) famous. Great bassline..

    Regards
    Mark

Maybe Music Man can start putting in those nifty fretboard lights to fix their lousy G string dead spots.

Just continuing...humor section, ya know. I own 3 MM....no dead spots.
